Latest Commission

The Late Mr. Mittens:

Oil on canvas, 16 x 16, 2009

It really took me a lot longer to finish this painting than I'd expected. I didn't know how I wanted to incorporate the mittens as requested in the commission. Finally I settled on adding them in as the pattern on the pillow. She was very pleased with the final. It always feels good to know that my work is making someone so happy.

Well the commissioned Nield Portrait is finally done! I call it Two Lips & Tulips. They are very happy with it, and that makes me happy...

Why must I always have so many projects going at once? I am le silly. Boo focus.

Here is a shot of a portrait I am in the midst of... It's my beautiful mother, but i cant seem to get the expression of the mouth right. I have my work cut out for me... Oh well, just have to keep at it.

Lately I've been trying to force myself to work smaller and faster. It has produced some interesting results. Also dean and I have been studying the same work together and its coming out in both of our styles. These are two of my recent works, the fun stuff I've been playing with.

Victorian designs

My friend who runs an antique shop asked me to do some Victorian designs on a king size headboard... These guys are what I came up with. I think I will wind up doing something cooler with these.
